Cleveland Cavaliers 111-Chicago Bulls 87
By: Brian Hagerman

Tuesday night, the Cavaliers looked to improve on their winning ways at the ever-becoming cozy Gund Arena. The 111-87 throttling of the Bulls brought the Cavs current winning streak to seven games, their last loss coming against Chicago (18-49) just over two weeks ago.

The last time the Cavaliers held a 7-game winning streak, LeBron James was just a 12 year-old bouncing the ball in his living room.

After earning the Eastern Conferences Player of the Week award, Zydrunas Ilgauskas went out and had one of his best games of the year. The 7'3" Lithuanian scored 21 points, grabbed 17 rebounds (a career high 10 offensive), and swatted 5 shots.

The Cavs (31-36) have now won 11 of their past 13 games and their last six at Gund Arena. Since starting the season 6-19 the Cavs have held a 25-17 mark, a .555 winning percentage. With the win, Cleveland kept sole possession of the sixth spot in the playoff standings.

Carlos Boozer added 22 points and 13 boards, while James netted 17 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and five blocks. One of James' assists came on an amazing no-look pass over his shoulder to Boozer for a slam. Jeff McInnis scored 17 points and dished out eight assists, as the Cavs improved to 17-8 since acquiring him for Darius Miles.

Ilgauskas got things rolling early scoring 10 points and grabbing nine rebounds in the first quarter. Cleveland held a 34-29 lead after one quarter of play.

The Cavs jumped out to a 47-33 advantage on a Lee Nailon jumper midway into the second period. The Bulls countered with a 16-4 spurt to pull within two points. A McInnis 3-pointer and Ira Newble jumper increased the lead to seven at 56-49 going into halftime.

Ilgauskas and the Cavs opened the third with a 10-2 run that jumped their lead out to 66-51, to which the Bulls never recovered. Cleveland led by as many as 32 points during the fourth quarter.

The Bulls dropped their seventh straight game. Jamal Crawford had 17 points and Kirk Hinrich scored 14 points to go along with 9 assists. Ronald Dupree came off the bench with 10 points and 8 rebounds, most of it coming in garbage time.

Boozer had a career-high five steals in the win. Cleveland outrebounded Chicago 57-43. The Cavs also held a 45 percent shooting percentage compared to the Bulls' 39 percent.

Cleveland plays Utah at home Friday night.
