Currently w/ 12 players on the roster at 24 and younger
maybe the best venue for the Cavaliers would be Kent State University. A full
crowd on hand to watch a wine and gold scrimmage and none would go away
disappointed in what they saw.
They may have come to
see LeBron James, but this team goes much deeper than that. They are young,
talented and exciting. Ricky Davis led all scorers w/ 24 points
including 3 3 pointers. “Ricky was sensational,” Silas said. “He
has found his little niche in the offense. When he gets it going, it is just
something to behold. It's up to me to decide when he's got it and when he
doesn't and when to use him.” But maybe the most fun of the night from
Ricky was watching his warm-up dunk contest with LeBron and Miles before the
second half. One thing you see on this team, is that it enjoys having fun and
has fun playing basketball together.
LeBron James
had a strong game with 10 points, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds was given rave reviews from
his coach after the game. “We've told LeBron to be
more aggressive and tonight he took that to heart, he
penetrated to the hoop and got some nice shots up. When he gets going, he’ll
be pretty tough to stop out there.” Silas said,
JR
Bremer the second year player picked up from the Celtics this past off season,
put down 19 points w/ his own aerial show. Shooting for 50% from the court for
the Gold in defeat. “J.R.'s had a great camp and two great exhibition
games,” said Silas. “This is a perfect system for him.” Outside
shooting is one thing this team was lacking last year and so far something
that Bremer has brought to the team.
A game that
included 2 12 minute half's and a 2 minute overtime finished w/ the Wine
defeating the Gold 62-59. Just a scrimmage between players, but this is definitely
not showing signs of being last years team. The team that lost more games than
anyone else in the NBA.
